Make It an Event

Your backyard. Your guest list. Our people.

When the Backyard Becomes the Guest List

Private dinners. Rehearsal dinners. Birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, graduations — the milestones that earn a table. Community nights that don’t need a reason.

Three levels of outdoor space and an indoor room when the weather doesn’t cooperate. A kitchen that knows what it’s doing. We’ll match you to the right space and stay out of the way.

Event Types

Private Dinners

Date nights. Friend-time. One-on-one with the kids. Work dinners that earn the drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size events do you host?
Events of every size. The Dining Room, Lounges, and Den work for small tables. The backyard reads better with a fuller guest list. Tell us your headcount and we’ll match you to the right space. Buyouts of the inside, outside, or both are also an option.
Can we bring our own decorations?
Yes. We just ask that any setup or installations get coordinated with our team in advance. The string lights and the oaks already do most of the work.
Is there a venue rental fee?
Maybe. It depends on the space, the date, and what you have in mind. We’ll talk through options and value on the initial call.
Do you cater off-site, or only host events here?
Both. This page is for hosting at the Brae. For off-site catering and carryout by the pound, see our Catering page.
What about rain plans?
The dining room and indoor spaces work as rain backups. Covered patio space is available outside as well. We’ll build a plan with you that keeps the celebration on track.
Can I book just part of the space, or does it have to be a full buyout?
Both options are available. A partial buyout reserves a section for your group; a full buyout gives you the whole place. We host gatherings from intimate tables up to around 300 across the whole property. We’ll talk through what makes sense for your headcount and occasion.
What’s the food format for private events?
We work it out with you. Some events call for a set menu; others work better family-style or off our regular menu. Tell us your headcount and the kind of occasion, and we’ll put together something that fits.
Can you accommodate vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free guests?
Most plates can be made vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free. When something can’t, we’ll say so plainly. Tell us about any dietary needs when you reach out.
Is a bar package included, or is alcohol handled separately?
Bar options are part of the conversation when you book. We’ll walk you through what’s available and what makes sense for your group.
Can we bring an outside cake or dessert?
Yes. Outside cakes and desserts are welcome for birthdays, anniversaries, and other milestone occasions. In many cases there’s no cake-cutting fee — confirm when you book.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better, especially for weekend dates. Three weeks’ notice is a reasonable baseline for smaller gatherings; for larger events or full buyouts, reach out as soon as you have a date in mind.
Is a deposit required to hold the date?
Deposit requirements are handled case by case based on the size and scope of the event. We’ll walk you through the details when you reach out.
Are private events available outside your regular hours?
Yes. Our public hours are Wednesday through Sunday, but the space is available other days for private events. Email maisie@mgb-llc.co or call 803.81.HOUND to talk through what you have in mind.
Do you host corporate happy hours or team events?
Yes. We’re a natural fit for team outings, company happy hours, and end-of-quarter gatherings — easy to reach from Fort Mill, Lake Wylie, and the wider Charlotte area. We have some A/V capability; confirm your requirements in advance so we can set it up right.
Does Maisie’s Green Brae host fundraisers or nonprofit events?
Yes. We love supporting local organizations. If you’re planning a fundraiser or community event in the Tega Cay, Fort Mill, or Lake Wylie area, email maisie@mgb-llc.co — let’s talk about what we can do together.
Is Maisie’s Green Brae dog-friendly for private events?
Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. It’s part of who we are.
How do I book a private event?
Email maisie@mgb-llc.co or call 803.81.HOUND (46863). Tell us your date, estimated headcount, and the kind of occasion. We’ll take it from there.
What types of events work well at Maisie’s Green Brae?
The brae is a good fit for gatherings where the atmosphere matters as much as the logistics. Birthday dinners and milestone celebrations, rehearsal dinners, post-wedding Sunday brunches, corporate team outings and end-of-quarter gatherings, neighborhood and HOA events, school and youth sports team celebrations, and nonprofit fundraisers. We’re not a banquet hall. If you want people to eat well, drink well, and feel like themselves in a comfortable place — that’s what we do.
How many people can you seat for a private event?
For a seated dinner inside, up to about 120 — and about 80 in the dining room on its own. With the outdoor space — covered porch, upper patio, open lawn — the full property comfortably seats 250, and 300 or more depending on how we set the patio by the stage and the lawn. Tell us your headcount and the format you have in mind and we’ll match you to the right configuration.
Can we add live music to our private event?
Yes. We have existing relationships with local and regional artists and can arrange live music for private events. Let us know when you reach out — lead time matters here more than for other details, so the earlier the better.
Is there parking for event guests?
Yes. On-site parking at 2150 Gold Hill Road. For larger buyouts, let us know your estimated headcount when you book so we can plan accordingly.
