Live on the Brae

Music and entertainment worth staying for.

The Stage in the Backyard

Half of Maisie’s lives outside, and the stage lives with it. Most Thursdays and Saturdays — with something on the calendar any day we’re open — music carries from the brick stage patio in the middle of the backyard, past the string lights, out across the lawn. Local artists. Regional favorites. The occasional surprise.

Grab a seat. Sip a drink. The night unfolds on its own time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What nights is there live music at Maisie’s Green Brae?

Most often Thursday and Saturday evenings on the backyard stage in Tega Cay, SC — though live music or entertainment can turn up any day we’re open. Local and regional acts play the brick stage patio from supper into the evening, everything from country and classic rock to soul, acoustic, and the odd dance band. Check the lineup above or follow @maisiesgreenbrae for who’s on next.

Is there a cover charge for the live music?

No. Live music at Maisie’s Green Brae is always free, with no cover and no ticket. Walk in, grab a seat, order supper or a drink, and stay for the set. The backyard stage is open to everyone.

Is the music indoors or outside?

It depends on the weather and the time of year. Big bands always play the backyard stage, out on the brick patio under the string lights. Solo artists, acoustic duos, and piano players sometimes move inside to the dining room when the season calls for it. Check the lineup above or follow @maisiesgreenbrae for what’s on next and where.

What’s the outdoor stage setup like — real sound, or just background music?

The stage is on a brick patio in the backyard, with a proper PA and sound that’s run by people who know what they’re doing. It’s an open-air setup, with table seating near the bar, a covered porch for when the heat gets honest, and the lawn open in front of the stage. Close enough to talk over if you need to; good enough to stop and listen when you want to.

Do I need a reservation, or can I just show up?

Just show up. Live music nights are walk-in, no reservation needed — we don’t hold tables. On a busy Saturday, call or text 803.81.HOUND (46863) to check the wait, then grab a drink at the bar or in a lounge until a spot opens. For a big group, see our private events page.

Is Maisie’s Green Brae a good spot for date night near Fort Mill and Charlotte?

It’s an easy date night. A backyard with live music, honest food, and a full bar, a short drive from Fort Mill, Lake Wylie, Rock Hill, and Charlotte. Come for supper, share a drink, and let the evening stretch out under the string lights. No cover, no rush.

Can I bring the whole family, including kids?

Yes. Maisie’s Green Brae is family-friendly, and the backyard gives kids room to roam while the music plays and supper comes out. It’s made for quality time: neighbors at the bar, kids on the lawn, everyone at the same table. All ages welcome.

Is there a play area for kids?

Yes. The grounds have a children’s play area and a fairy garden — a proper one, not a corner with crayons. Kids have room to move while the music plays and supper comes out. The outdoor space is not precious. All ages welcome.

Are dogs welcome in the backyard?

Yes, this is the Brae, after all. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome in the backyard, so bring yours along for a night of music or a bite on the patio. We just ask that they stay leashed and easy around the crowd.

Can I watch sports at the bar?

Sometimes. The bar is a comfortable place to catch a game over a drink and a plate, and we put the big matchups on when they’re playing. We’re built around the backyard and the table, not a wall-of-screens sports bar, but for a relaxed afternoon with the game on, you’re in good company. Call 803.81.HOUND to check what’s showing.

Do you host trivia or game nights?

Yes. Friday Night, Game Night runs on select Fridays from 8 to 10 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for ages 12–17, and $11 for kids 6–11 — $2 of every ticket goes to the York County Humane Society, and the rest goes toward food and drink. Each game winner earns a raffle ticket, and prizes are Maisie’s gift cards and swag, drawn at 10:15. Reserve a spot ahead, and check the lineup above for what’s on next.

Do you do outdoor movie nights?

Occasionally. When the season’s right, we set up movie nights in the backyard: bring a blanket, settle on the lawn, and watch under the stars. They’re family-friendly and easy. Dates land on the calendar as we set them, so follow @maisiesgreenbrae for the next showing.

Can you handle a big group for a night out?

Yes. Whether it’s a birthday, a team night, or a crew of neighbors, the backyard has room to spread out. For larger parties, give us a heads-up at 803.81.HOUND (46863) or maisie@mgb-llc.co so we can hold space and have the kitchen ready. Private events have their own page, too.

What are the Maisie’s Green Brae Highland Games?

Our Highland Games are a new family-friendly fall tradition launching in 2026: a backyard day of Scottish-rooted games, food, and live music in Tega Cay. We’re still setting the date and the details. Follow @maisiesgreenbrae and watch the calendar, and we’ll share the day as it comes together.
